The dinner half of the night
Dinner, drinks and allergies
How the dinner half of a Granada dinner-and-flamenco evening works: menu choices, drinks, allergies, diets and what to settle before you sit down.
Book dinner and flamenco ↗Quick answer
At Jardines de Zoraya the dinner comes first and the flamenco show follows. The GetYourGuide ticket includes a dinner, and the booking page lists menu options for different dietary needs. Tell the venue about allergies in advance. Drinks and extra dishes can be ordered before the show, so check what your option includes before you assume a drink is covered.
Dinner is the first half
The ticket is built as a dinner followed by a flamenco show. The booking page puts the whole evening at around two and a half hours, and the venue puts the show itself at one hour. So the meal is a planned part of the night, not an extra you squeeze in. You are seated at your table and eat before the performance begins, which means you can arrive hungry.
Choosing a menu
The booking page lists menu options, including options for various dietary needs. The venue sells its own menus on its own site, but the options on a GetYourGuide ticket are the ones the booking page shows. Read them when you pick your date, and keep the confirmation. If the choices on your option are unclear, ask the venue before the evening instead of at the table.
Allergies and diets
Guests are asked to say in advance if they have specific dietary needs or allergies, and the venue aims to accommodate requests. Write to the venue after you book, name the allergen clearly and ask for confirmation. A short note in Spanish helps, for example the Spanish word for the allergen and the word alergia. Carry the message on your phone, so the server at the table can read it.
Drinks
Drinks and à la carte dishes can be ordered before the show starts. That does not mean a drink is part of your ticket. Treat drinks as extra unless your option says otherwise, and look at the inclusions on the booking page. Because the show asks for silence, order what you want before the performance begins, and do not expect service to move around the room once the artists start.
Timing the meal
Your confirmation gives the start time of your session. Dinner comes before it, so arrive with enough margin to be seated, order and eat without rushing. If you are late, you will be let in at the next musical break so the show is not interrupted. That is a poor way to meet the meal, so build in time for the cobbled lanes of the Albaicín and for finding Calle Panaderos.
Where you sit
Tables are assigned in booking order, with the front tables going first according to the venue. The venue describes lower tables in the middle and higher tables along the sides. You eat at the table you are given, and it is also the table you watch from. If you are in a group that wants to sit together, book it in one transaction, and say so to the venue afterwards.
Children and groups
All ages are welcome, though the evening may suit children from about eight. A dinner, then a quiet one-hour show, is a long sit for small children. Groups should book together and ask the venue about seating. Casual dress is accepted and semi-formal is suggested for the evening. No pets, apart from assistance dogs.
What to settle before you go
A few small decisions make the dinner easier. Settle them after you book and before you climb the hill, so that nothing has to be explained at the table while the room fills.
- Pick the menu option that suits your diet
- Write to the venue about any allergy and keep the reply
- Decide whether you want drinks, and order before the show
- Check the start time on your confirmation
- Save the address, Calle Panaderos 32, offline
